How Long Does Counselling Take?

Sessions are available in person at my counselling room in Ballincollig
or online through Zoom. Each session is 50 minutes long.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment,
please let me know at least 24 hours in advance.
Otherwise, the full session fee will be charged.

Confidentiality

What you share with me is kept strictly confidential and will only be shared with others if you request it. However, there are some situations where I am legally required to break confidentiality. These include:

* child protection issues such as abuse or neglect arise, either current or historical.

* a serious crime has been or may be committed.

* there is a risk of serious harm or injury to the client or someone else.

Length of Time in Counselling

How long we work together depends on your reasons for coming to therapy. If you have a specific concern, it might take 6 to 12 sessions. More complex or long-standing issues, such as past trauma, may need more time and a gentler pace. In our first session, we will set a timeline to review your progress and make sure you are getting the support you need.
