Christian Gould — Counsellor & Psychotherapist, MSc, Pre-Accredited Member IACP in Cork city

My name is Christian Gould, and I am a counsellor based in Cork. I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, and I am a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) Membership #M19909.

My main approach is person-centred, humanistic, and integrative. When it suits you, I can also use ACT, CBT, psychodynamic, and psychoeducation methods to help.

I am qualified to work with adults and hold a degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College and Middlesex University. I also hold a Master’s in Psychology from the University of East London and a Certificate of Education from the University of Warwick.. As well as working for University College Cork’s School of Public Health and the National Autistic Society.

I have spent 16 years working in social care and education, supporting young neurodiverse adults one-on-one. I became a counsellor after living in different countries and working in a range of fields, from finance and IT to teaching. Each new place and job gave me a better understanding of people and helped me grow more empathetic. These experiences taught me how to connect with others on a deeper level.

Because of my varied background, I can relate to people from many different backgrounds and listen closely to their stories. In our sessions, I aim to be curious, warm, and respectful as we work together on your challenges and goals. If you are facing changes, looking for clarity, or wanting a more meaningful life, I am here to help.

I help clients with a wide range of concerns, such as anxiety, assertiveness, setting boundaries, childhood trauma, communication, conflict, depression, grief and loss, low mood, panic attacks, relationships, self-confidence, self-esteem, self-harm, stress, trauma, and challenges related to neurodiversity.
